Market Structure
I read recent highs, lows, directional context and meaningful support or resistance zones before considering a setup.
I’m Shakil Mahmud Chowdhury, an independent Gold (XAUUSD) and Forex trader and the founder of Chart Scalping. I trade manually, focusing on market structure, selective entries, planned risk and disciplined execution. This page is about me: how I trade, what I believe and where I am in my journey.
I’m an independent trader whose main market is Gold (XAUUSD), alongside Forex. I trade manually on an intraday basis, and my decisions are built around understanding context, defining a setup, knowing where the idea is wrong, planning risk and reviewing the result.
My approach draws on price action and market-structure concepts such as liquidity, break of structure (BOS), change of character (CHoCH) and fair value gaps (FVG). To me these are a decision-making framework, not a promise that any individual trade will work.
Early on, I saw how many new traders lean on signals and copy trades without knowing why a trade was taken. That experience shaped my own rule: understand the reasoning, keep my own records and take ownership of every decision, win or lose.
That belief is why I started Chart Scalping. To learn what the platform offers and how it operates, visit the About Chart Scalping page.
My framework is built around preparation, confirmation and risk control. Before I enter a position, I should know what I’m looking for, what invalidates the idea and how much I’m willing to risk.
I read recent highs, lows, directional context and meaningful support or resistance zones before considering a setup.
I observe how price behaves around relevant areas instead of chasing every fast move or entering out of fear of missing out.
I use price action and a defined structure shift as part of the entry decision, rather than relying on a single concept alone.
I know where the idea is no longer valid, and I plan the stop loss and position size before execution.
I review whether my rules were followed, not only whether the trade ended in profit or loss.
Some sessions offer no suitable setup. Not trading is a valid decision when my rules are not met.
I have passed evaluation stages with The5ers and Alpha Capital. The certificates below show the stages I completed. They are milestones in my trading journey, not a professional financial qualification and not a guarantee of future performance.
A good process cannot remove market risk, but it can make decisions more deliberate. I believe a trader should take responsibility for their own decisions, understand the downside of every trade and keep records that allow honest review.
Trading development is ongoing. I document my process, reflect on decisions and share lessons, without suggesting that one result predicts the next.
Studied price action, market structure, risk management and the mechanics of the instruments I trade.
Defined setup criteria, invalidation, risk and review rules instead of relying on spontaneous decisions.
Used trading records and prop firm evaluations as learning milestones, not as guarantees.
Started Chart Scalping to document and share what I learn along the way.
Prop firm certificates document specific evaluation achievements. They do not, on their own, prove long-term profitability. For a fuller picture, explore my published trading journeys and judge each example in its own context.
Where I share performance data, backtested and live results are clearly distinguished. Screenshots and self-reported results are not independently verified performance unless a third-party source is identified. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
